June 18, 2026, Makati City, Philippines — The Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) was among the distinguished organizations that took part in the ECCP 2026 Healthcare Forum, convened on 18 June 2026 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City. Carrying the theme "Putting Patients First in UHC: Bridging the Path from Early Wellness to Specialized and Life-Changing Innovations," the forum brought together leaders across government, industry, and civil society to strengthen the country's progress toward Universal Health Care through better policy, financing, and innovation.

The event featured insights from Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, Secretary of the Department of Health; Dr. Irene Florentino-Fariñas, Director of the Policy and Planning Service at the Food and Drug Administration; Dr. Alfonso G. Nuñez III, Interim Executive Director of the Philippine Cancer Center; and Dr. Jacinto Blas V. Mantring III, Chairperson of the Health Technology Assessment Council, among other distinguished speakers and panelists.

Representing the Philippine Cancer Society was Dr. Herdee Gloriane C. Luna, MD, Oncology Manager, who spoke on "Time is of the Essence: Accelerating the Cancer Patient Journey from Screening to Treatment." Dr. Luna presented the realities of breast cancer in the Philippines, highlighted the ACT NOW Plus Program as a proven community-to-hospital navigation model for early detection and prompt treatment, and called on all sectors to work together to ensure that no Filipino cancer patient is lost along the way.
